For Peter Jackson’s remake of the 1930’s classic King Kong, I co-ordinated the design, manufacture, and styling of the large numbers of extras required to populate the New York City of this era.
Whilst a portion of the period costumes were hired from an overseas rental house, to meet the numbers required we had to manufacture a large amount of suits, coats and footwear. To achieve this I co-ordinated up to six outwork clothing manufacturers simultaneously in order to facilitate the numbers and meet the deadlines. I also designed the “native dancers” for Kong’s 8th Wonder of the World Broadway Show.
